Launching a new digital home
I joined The On Being Project at the tail end of an ambitious project to redesign onbeing.org. The team had spent months reshaping the visual experience of the site but had not tackled the website copy.
In the final weeks before launch, I did UX writing across the site on everything from titles and descriptions to full-page copy. I also reshaped menus and added pathways to facilitate better user flow through the site. My goal was to develop a cohesive voice that had the same invitational and inspirational tone that is present in the On Being podcast.
I also led a taxonomy project with the host and executive producer to organize 17 years of On Being interviews (330+ hours of programming) into 44 distinct "Libraries." We accomplished this herculean feat in two days with the help of a dynamic Trello board.
We launched the new onbeing.org to record traffic in January 2019. The site has since won a Webby for best cultural blog/website and awards from Communication Arts and the Society of Publication Designers.
